Turkish rider Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) delivered a flawless weekend in Portugal, claiming victory in all three WorldSBK races.
Race One
Despite starting from pole, Razgatlioglu dropped back at the start, while Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) seized the lead. The BMW rider quickly fought his way back, engaging in a thrilling head-to-head with Bulega. The pair traded positions multiple times and pulled away from the chasing pack. Behind them, Andrea Locatelli (Pata Yamaha) held third comfortably after Bautista and Scott Redding collided early and retired. Sam Lowes also crashed out after running near the front. In a nail-biting finish, Razgatlioglu snatched victory by just 0.067 seconds over Bulega, with Locatelli completing the podium. Danilo Petrucci and Xavi Vierge rounded out the top five.
Superpole Race
The 10-lap sprint delivered another showdown between Razgatlioglu and Bulega. After stalking each other for most of the race, Razgatlioglu made a decisive move in the final laps to take his second win of the weekend. Bulega finished just 0.055 seconds behind. Álvaro Bautista recovered from a slower start to claim third, pushing Danilo Petrucci off the podium. Andrea Locatelli took fifth ahead of Sam Lowes. The close battles and high pace once again highlighted Razgatlioglu’s strong form aboard the BMW.
Race Two
In Sunday’s feature race, Bulega got the holeshot, but Razgatlioglu stayed close and launched several attacks. A crash involving Jason O’Halloran brought out the red flags, and the race was restarted for 11 laps. Razgatlioglu briefly took the lead after the restart, but Bulega responded immediately. The final laps saw them exchange positions multiple times, with Bautista staying within a second, ready to capitalize. Razgatlioglu eventually edged clear and completed his perfect weekend with a third victory, ahead of Bulega and Bautista. Locatelli finished fourth and Michael van der Mark fifth, while Danilo Petrucci took sixth as the best independent rider.
Nicolo Bulega remains at the top of the standings with a score of 111 points after two rounds, having won three out of six races and finishing second in the other three. Toprak Razgatlioglu climbs to second in the championship with 82 points following a dominant weekend in Portimão, where he won all three races.
