BY PLANE

Flying is the quickest and most convenient option for reaching the Algarve Circuit, particularly for international travellers. Here are the main airports and transportation options:

Faro Airport (FAO)

Location: Faro Airport is the closest major airport to the Algarve Circuit, located about 85 km east of the track.
Flights: Faro is well-connected to many European cities, with flights operated by major airlines like British Airways, and Lufthansa, as well as budget carriers such as Ryanair and EasyJet. During peak travel periods, additional charter flights may also be available.

Ground Transportation
Car Rental: A variety of car rental companies, including Avis, Hertz, and Europcar, operate at Faro Airport. Renting a car is an ideal way to explore the Algarve at your own pace. The drive to the Algarve Circuit takes around an hour via the A22 motorway.
Taxi: Taxi are available at the airport, with a journey time of about one hour to the Algarve Circuit, costing approximately €90-€120.
Public Transport: You can take a bus from Faro Airport to Faro city centre, then switch to a train or bus to Portimão. From there, local buses or taxis can take you to the circuit. While this option is more affordable, it takes longer.

Lisbon Airport (LIS)

Location: Lisbon Airport is about 290 km north of the Algarve Circuit.
Flights: Lisbon is the main international airport in Portugal, offering extensive connections to cities worldwide, including New York, London, Paris, and Frankfurt. Airlines such as TAP Air Portugal, British Airways, and Emirates operate frequent flights to Lisbon.

Ground Transportation
Car Rental: Major car rental services like Sixt, Budget, and Enterprise are available at Lisbon Airport. Renting a car is a great way to enjoy the scenic drive south to the Algarve. The trip takes around 2.5 to 3 hours via the A2 and A22 motorways.
Train: From Lisbon Airport, take a taxi or metro to Oriente or Entrecampos train stations. CP (Comboios de Portugal) operates regular trains, including the Alfa Pendular and Intercidades services, to Portimão. The train ride takes around 3.5 hours. From Portimão, take a taxi or local bus to the circuit.
Bus: Companies like Rede Expressos and Eva Transportes provide bus services from Lisbon Sete Rios station to Portimão. The journey typically takes around 3.5 to 4 hours, and from Portimão, you can take a local taxi or bus to the circuit.

Uber
Uber is available in both Faro and Lisbon, providing a range of ride options from budget to premium services. You can book a ride using the Uber app, which allows you to track your journey and share details with family for safety. Premium Uber services offer larger vehicles and professional drivers, ensuring a more comfortable ride to the circuit. For more details, visit the Uber website or app.
