To ensure you have a worry-free race weekend and can fully enjoy the action on the track, here are some practical tips:
You won’t have to worry about going hungry during the race weekend. Almost every grandstand has a food area with refreshments.
There are plenty of options to buy food and drinks at the stands, including both permanent bars and new food trucks, each offering a variety of unique culinary experiences. Due to logistical limitations, not all stands will have the full range of food available around the circuit, but there will still be plenty of choices to suit different tastes.
Visitors are allowed to bring small amounts of personal food and drinks, such as a bottle, sandwich, fruit, or a snack. For safety reasons, bottles may need to be brought in without caps. Multiple food and beverage points are scattered throughout the stands.
Alcohol can only be purchased at bars located outside the designated perimeter, which includes those in the Fan Zone and under the Main Grandstand.
Before heading to the circuit, make sure to save all the essential information on your phone, including tickets, maps, and details about your favourite riders. On Sundays, the network at the Algarve International Circuit can become overloaded, so you may not be able to access data. It's best to plan ahead if you want to meet friends, as reaching them via phone may not be reliable. Arrange a specific time and place to meet, just like the good old days before cell phones!
Remember, motorsport can be very loud. While the noise is manageable in the general grandstands, it's advisable to wear earplugs if you're seated closer to the track. If you're bringing children, make sure they have headphones to protect their ears.
In late March, Portimão usually enjoys mild weather, with daytime temperatures around 20°C (68°F) and nighttime lows near 12°C (54°F). The region may experience occasional showers and varying wind conditions. This period is ideal for outdoor activities and sightseeing, as the weather remains comfortable before the onset of the hotter summer months.
If you want up-to-date weather information, we recommend using the Windy app.
